This Wesleyan
chapel built in 1810 is the most recent conversion by Wilton Homes.
It is now being kept as a show house and is lived in by director Gary
Partington.
The 1810 chapel
is In the heart of the scenic village of Bishop Wilton. It was re-roofed
around the turn of the century and lay unused for some years before
being transformed to a unique home with a wonderfully spacious feel.
It has 3 bedrooms
and a study downstairs and the upper living area commands magnificent
views over the village and the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds. Original
features such as the oak beams and the heating duct in the roof apex
are highlighted with modern lighting. The imposing staircase and upper
floor are crafted from quality pine and polished to a high gloss finish.
The original windows
were beyond repair but have been replaced with modern units built
as near as possible to the original designs. External timberwork has
been replaced to match the original and the weathered sandstone date
block was replaced with a hand crafted reproduction. Wilton's attention
to detail even included the manufacturing of new gutter brackets to
match the original cast iron ones.
This beautiful property shows off the quality
and workmanship of Wilton Homes. Please do not hesitate to contact
